How guides are written, what AI does and does not do here, and how we handle mistakes.

AI assistance, stated plainly

Guides on this site are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publishing. We think saying so is the only defensible position, because the alternative is pretending otherwise. What that means in practice: the research, the drafting and the structure are machine assisted, and a human is accountable for what ships.

Sourcing

Factual claims that a reader might reasonably want to check are cited. Where a figure comes from a vendor’s own material, we attribute it to the vendor rather than laundering it into a neutral voice. Where independent testing exists, it takes precedence over vendor claims.

Ownership, and where we are not neutral

This site is published by Zeyad Genena, who works at Chatbase. Chatbase sells AI customer support agents. This site reviews AI customer support agents. That is a direct conflict of interest.

We are not going to pretend otherwise, and we are not going to claim we resolve it by trying harder to be neutral. Any guide covering Chatbase or a Chatbase competitor carries a disclosure at the top, above the verdict, and argues a position rather than posing as a survey. You should read those guides as an informed argument from an interested party.

What we do commit to, in that context:

  • Every figure about every vendor is sourced, and the sources are listed so you can check them against each other.
  • We do not invent competitor weaknesses. Where a competitor is strong, the guide says so.
  • We do not repeat one vendor’s estimate of a rival’s pricing as though it were fact. Most of those estimates are published by competitors.
  • Where a vendor declines to publish a number, we say that, rather than filling the gap with a guess.

Outside AI customer support there is no such conflict, and those guides are written without one.

Separately from all of that: there is no affiliate revenue and no paid placement anywhere on this site. No third party pays to appear here or to rank higher. The bias disclosed above comes from employment, not from money changing hands.

Freshness

Software pricing moves constantly. Every guide carries a published date and an updated date, and the updated date is the one that matters. A guide that has not been touched in a year should be read as a snapshot, not as current.

Corrections and takedowns

Factual errors are corrected in place, and the updated date moves. If you are a vendor and something about your product is described wrongly, write to hello@softwareguides.reviews with the correction and a source. We will fix it. We will not remove an unfavourable but accurate verdict.

What we are not

This is not professional advice. Guides in the finance, legal, insurance and health sections describe products; they do not tell you what to do with your money, your case or your body. Talk to someone licensed for that.
